Applicants from a non-North American jurisdiction and educational system should appreciate that IUHS will consider their credentials with reference to their local requirements to enter medical school.

Basic Details

 

For direct admission to the IUHS MD program applicants must have a Bachelors Degree or 90 credit hours of college level study from an accredited University. Within those studies the following courses are required prerequisites for admission.

 

One year of:

Biology | Chemistry | Organic | Chemistry | Physics

 

One half year of:

Mathematics/Statistics

English or Language Arts/Writing

 

Applicants who do not have the complete premedical background may be offered a plan of study which includes additional coursework at the undergraduate level to complete their foundation studies.

 

MCAT is not required but will be considered.

 

If prior education is not in English alternate proof of English proficiency is required such as IELTS or TOEFL.

Additional Information

 

IUHS accepts applications from all applicants without regard of identity definition. All applications are screened on the basis of the required academic criteria. The Admissions Committee may require additional information to that provided in the application. Acceptance is at the sole discretion of the Admissions Committee. 

 

Completed applications (including all supporting documentation) are submitted to the Admissions Committee weekly. Letters of acceptance or non-acceptance will be mailed within one week of the Admissions Committee reaching a decision.

IUHS offers a BSc-MD pathway for students who have little or no post-secondary education in the prerequisites.
